Mark Toomey, the international expert in ISO/IEC 38500, will be giving a two-day "Foundation" class in Frankfurt am Main, Germany on November 26 and 27.
All over the world, the GFC has magnified the desire of organisations to ensure that the investments they make in information technology are effective, efficient and acceptable. Speaking in Korea recently, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said that the GFC-driven reduction in spend on IT will persist, while companies continue their drive for new levels of efficiency. Effective governance of IT is essential in this drive for efficiency, and the market is increasingly looking to the international standard ISO/IEC 38500 to guide establishment of effective governance arrangements.
Mark Toomey has become known world-wide as the expert on the meaning and application of ISO/IEC 38500. His new book, "Waltzing with the Elephant", is winning widespread acclaim for its no-nonsense explanation of why and how business leaders must govern their organisation’s use of IT.
Once again, Toomey is coming to Europe, to deliver, in conjunction with Serview GmbH, a two day foundation class in the ISO/IEC 38500 approach to governance of IT. This class offers participants the opportunity to share practical experience as they explore the key tasks and principles for governance of IT, assess how well their own organisations do governance, and begin developing plans for improving their governance arrangements.
